IT’S HERE!! It’s finally, really here! <jumping up & down> FALL </jumping up & down>  (That’s a little HTML joke for those of you out there who happen to understand it … yep, all 5 of you!)

Although, I know it is barely even September. And, as I type this, it is 90° at 11:00 am.  I don’t care!  I’m sorting through my clothes, pulling out my boots, & getting the box (okay, several boxes) of Halloween decor out of the garage. Fall is my favorite & my best. Emphatically, it is the reason I live through the other 9 months of the year.  I dream about it, I pray for it, and I fully live it up for 3 months!! Fall, you are always in my heart. Additionally, right now, you are in my coffee cup, too! If you’re with me, then let me share a few easy ways to PUMPKIN SPICE EVERYTHING! But keep reading, because you’re going to need the recipe below for a few items. 😉

Homemade Pumpkin Spice Syrup

If blog posts could dance, my Homemade Vanilla Syrup recipe would be Prom Queen.  It is the most popular recipe on this blog. (Along with its counterpart: homemade cream soda.) It might be one of the easiest recipes here, too. (Albeit our homemade taco seasoning is pretty freaking easy, too.) For some insane reason, though, people love it. Don’t get me wrong, I love it too; but I never, NEVER thought it would be this popular. This year, I thought I would expound on that wonderful recipe by adding a little fall flavor to it. Voila!! DIY Pumpkin Spice Syrup is the newest post in Homeroom & is aiming to wrestle that tiara from Vanilla. Alright, this is getting weird. I’ll stop with the pretty-in-high-school bit.

Pumpkin EVERYTHING

Because I love you, I can’t lie to you. This recipe is GOOD! I mean, maybe a little too good. Like oh-my-word-I’m-addicted good. I’ve been putting it in my coffee (which I normally take black) in the mornings. Plus, the whole family has been using it instead of maple syrup to make insta-Pumpkin Pancakes. (Add a tsp of Homemade Pumpkin Spice Seasoning to the mix for the ultimate fall breakfast experience!) But my newest favorite way to use it is to make DIY Iced Pumpkin Spice Coffee in the afternoons!!! Summer-Won’t-Concede meets Fall-Will-Win-Soon in a refreshingly delicious pick-me-up treat. (Why am I so obsessed with the hyphen these days?!)

Anyway, I’m tempted to taunt you in a sing-song voice: “Try it; you’ll like it.” Along with a challenge to give it up when the season is over. Because I doubt you’ll be able to. Though because you can make it at home with products found in the store year-round, you won’t have to. Nevertheless, I dare you. Double-dog dare you. Even though you’ll lose, you’ll thank me later.

Recipe adapted from Pillsbury.

The taste is awesome but the texture once it cool down becomes slimy. Maybe it’s beacause my pumpkin puree was organic but i realy doubt so.more like a chemical reaction between the pumpkin and the sugar. But overall a very good recipe

  • Marcia

YUM!!! I love the vanilla syrup….can’t wait to try pumpkin spice!

  • Brittany

    • WOW, Dana, what a huge compliment!! They were even a few days old by the time they made it to you. I’m so humbled that you liked them that much!

  • Kim B

I made both your Vanilla Syrup (wanted a Vanilla with no preservatives), and your Pumpkin Spice yesterday. My two cups of coffee today are amazing! Thank you:)
Ps: already know who is getting the Pumpkin as a little gift!! She posts her excitement about Starbucks PSL on Facebook as soon as it is available! I can’t wait to give her this at home, way healthier option!!

    • @Kim – that’s so exciting to hear!!! I’m glad you like them both! They are definitely better options than anything store-bought or from the coffee shop :). Hope your friend enjoys her gift! Have her come leave a comment telling me how it compares to her fav PSL!! I’d love to hear it.

  • Thank you for linking up to Tickle My Tastebuds Tuesday last week. As one of the co-hosts, I will be featuring your recipe on Tickle My Tastebuds Tuesday this week on my site, Detours in Life. Congrats! Please stop by and grab a feature button when you get a chance.

    • @Alecia – wow, thank you so much! I honored that you’ll be featuring my recipe. Thanks for the linkup, too!

P.S. I think it is too funny that we have the SAME name (same spelling & all) … which is very rare 🙂

I have tried a few variations of pumpkin spice syrup for coffee, and this is by FAR the best I have found! Everyone I share it with raves about this recipe and flavor too. Well done!

    • Thank you, Jana!!! I am so humbled by your comment … though I must agree. This recipe is the yummiest one I’ve tried yet, too. I’m thrilled that you & yours have enjoyed it so much!! Foodies, unite! 🙂

  • This looks incredibly delicious!

  • Kati

Just found this on pinterest. Made it and it’s cooling! It smells SO good. I have been craving the pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks ever since it came out now I can make it at home and know it’s not bad for me! Thank you!

    • @Kati – I hope it tasted as good as it smelled! This is a great recipe to make before you have company over — perfect air freshener :). Like you, I’m satisfying my Starbucks PSL craving without going broke or filling my body with stuff I can’t pronounce!!

      • Kati

Made my second batch today. So yummy. I added about a half teaspoon of vanilla extract after I pulled it off the heat. So amazingly good I added it to my coffee before it cooled because I couldn’t wait.

        • @Kati – I know the feeling of “it won’t cool fast enough!!” 🙂 I love the addition of the vanilla! Yummy!!!

  • Rachel

LOVE this recipe! So easy to make with many different uses. Can’t wait to try it in my coffee tomorrow morning 🙂

    • @Rachel – so glad you like it! You might need to add ice to your coffee too … COME ON, FALL, HURRY UP!! 🙂

  • Rochelle Marshall
