If you thought regular whipped cream was a God-given phenom, just wait. This caramel-flavored whipped cream is about to blow your mind – and taste buds!

If you have trouble getting your heavy cream to whip, make sure all ingredients are cold. In fact, you can go one step further. Chill your bowl and beaters, too. Also, be sure you don’t add the syrup until you already have soft peaks. The sugary syrup can weigh down the cream. Therefore, it won’t stiffen if you add it too soon.

Caramel Flavored Whipped Cream Recipe

Our favorite way to use this simple caramel whipped cream recipe is on top of our Homemade Pear Pie. Drizzle a little caramel topping, and you are in heaven! It’s our family’s favorite way to end Thanksgiving Dinner. We make it anytime an apple pie would do. Trust me, no one will miss the apples! We also love to use in on top of simple chocolate cupcakes for an elevated flavor. Additionally, you can turn our homemade cream soda into a true Italian soda by adding a dollop on top!

Flavored Whipped Cream

If you’re adventurous, don’t let this recipe hold you back. You can swap out any flavored syrup you’d like and get the same result. For example, use lavender syrup to top off shortbread cookies. Or swap for hazelnut syrup to make a whipped topping for your latte. Alternatively, use peppermint to flavor your hot chocolate topping. Further, gingerbread syrup or pumpkin spice syrup would give you an insanely cozy topping for waffles! Of course, classic vanilla syrup will give you the most versatility.

Our favorite flavors are homemade or come from Torani flavored syrups, which you can buy at your local grocery store, at TJ Maxx, or on Amazon. Since they last FOREVER, don’t be afraid to stock up on all your favorite flavors.

  • Beat heavy cream in a chilled mixer bowl until soft peaks form. (I usually start at med-low speed and increase to high as the mixture thickens.)
  • Slowly add sugar and syrup and beat until stiff peaks form. (This usually happens quickly, so watch it closely. Overly beaten cream is the start of homemade butter.)
  • Use as needed. Chill leftovers for up to 2 days.
