Homemade Cream Soda {Dairy-Free}

Homemade Cream Soda Bottle

As promised, I am going to share with you today how you can use the Homemade Vanilla Syrup recipe that I shared the other day to make a delicious Homemade Cream Soda!  This recipe was conceived in love & born out of a personal desire to enjoy a soda with only simple & refined ingredients.  Because there are only 3 (real) ingredients in the vanilla syrup (sugar, brown sugar, & vanilla), you can make sure that your end result is high quality and without any needless ingredients!  Personally, I buy organic sugar & brown sugar (both from Trader Joe’s) and Nielsen & Massey Organic Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Extract which has a warm & clean flavor (I think).

Last year, I had the opportunity post a SodaStream review on my former blog.  I was sent a jet stream starter kit in order to do so.  While all of my initial review points still stand, I have learned to love & use our SodaStream most to make this Cream Soda.  While you can use regular Club Soda or Sparkling Water, I use my SodaStream to make plain carbonated water & then pour that over my vanilla syrup, stir, & VOILA! Homemade Cream Soda in an instant!

A little bit later, I’ll share a few other variations on the vanilla syrup.  For now, you can customize the flavor of your syrup, and soda, by replacing the vanilla extract with whatever extract flavor you’d prefer – like Hazelnut or Almond!  Make your own soda & go wild with it.  Who knows, you might be the one to start a brand new obsession with Hazelnut Soda!

Serving Size: 12 oz

  1. Pour vanilla syrup into a 12oz or larger glass & slowly add carbonated water, being careful not to overflow the cup. With a long spoon, gently stir. Enjoy while still cold & bubbly!

Customize the depth of your flavor by adding more or less of the vanilla syrup to meet your own palate's cravings.
